Drupal Ireland March Meetup - Search 50k+ records in the blink of an eye

Posted by stella on March 18, 2021 at 7:43pm
2021-03-31 19:00 - 21:00 UTC

This month we are joined by Christopher Torgalson, Alan Burke and Juanluis Lozano from Annertech, and Jason Bosco of Typesense, where they are going to share with us their secrets for searching through 50,000+ records in the blink of an eye!

Classified listing websites are hugely reliant on search. An extensive selection of ads is of little use without a fast and accurate search-engine to help users discover relevant ads.

Drupal Ireland Committee meeting minutes (Wed 18 Mar 2020)

Posted by rjfg on March 19, 2020 at 8:10am

The committee had a video call today.

These are the topics we covered:

-1-

With the Coronavirus hitting Irish shores and indeed the whole planet we're going to monitor the situation with regard to DrupalCamp. There's no rush at the moment and in April we'll be able to make a more robust decision.

-2-

From the Drupal Ireland accounts side of things, Stella will request a form to initiate a new mandate from Ulster Bank, then we can send people to their local branch to have their ID verified and themselves registered as signatories.

Drupal Ireland AGM, part 2 of 2

Posted by geewiz_ on November 7, 2019 at 7:24pm
2019-11-21 13:00 - 14:00 Europe/Dublin

Our first AGM call on 7 November was very interesting and productive. I'm real happy how our first virtual AGM went!

However, we're not finished. The discussion clearly showed that the Drupal landscape in Ireland has been changing lately. This discussion needs to continue in order to define the purpose of the Drupal Ireland Association in general and the responsibilities of its committee/board. That's why we've decided to arrange another call in 2 weeks.

looking for site maintainers

Posted by frost on October 19, 2019 at 1:34pm

I’m looking for someone based in Ireland/NI who's interested in taking on sites for a few small organisations / businesses (with correspondingly small budgets).

Drupal slack

Sites are running D7 and generally just need security updates and occasional new functionality or client support. One has extensive custom code which I inherited, the others are mostly standard contrib stuff with some config.

PM me for more info.

Inexpensive managed hosting with decent performance

Posted by frost on April 25, 2019 at 12:44pm

Hi all,
Like the title says, looking for managed hosting for a dozen small sites.

Can anyone share their experience/recommendations for a reasonably performant managed host that costs less than €100/month? Doesn't need to have any Drupal-specific functionality, just a reasonable performant host for the money. Most website end users are in Ireland, so host needs to have servers in this region.

Considering SiteGround atm but open to others.

Thanks

Mike

Drupal Camp Dublin 2018 - POSTPONED

Posted by cferthorney on May 31, 2018 at 6:38am
2018-10-12 09:30 - 2018-10-13 16:00 Europe/London

Dear Irish Drupal Community,

It is with great regret that we write this post. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are having to postpone the 2018 DrupalCamp Dublin until Spring 2019. We know how passionate the Drupal Community is in Ireland, and feel that in the current circumstances, we cannot provide Dublin (and Ireland), the camp that it deserves. We hope that in delaying the camp we can provide you with something that meets your expectations. We can not overstate how sorry we are that this needs to happen.

Posted by ChandeepKhosa on April 5, 2018 at 3:48am

Hi everyone,

Drupal Watchdog Slack

Who here would be interested in attending a meetup in Belfast in the next few months?

Are there organisations that you know that work with Drupal in and around Belfast in addition to the following?

  • The Tomorrow Lab
  • BT48
  • HighWire
  • One Man And His Mouse

Drupal Slack Alternative

I think it would be really great to see a meetup organised in the near future so I can attend/speak at it when I'm next in town :)
