The visitor referred through DirectLink is recognized by the HTTP REFERER information sent by the browser.
It is the address of the page which referred the browser to the destination page. In short, when a visitor clicks a link on the affiliate’s page, the HTTP REFERER will be the address of affiliate’s page.
Our system will then check this page in our database to learn if the page belongs to an affiliate, and it will then assign that person the click.
The advantages of this method are that visitors won’t know they are clicking on an affiliate link and can not remove the affiliate parameters from the URL.
There are two ways how to add direct links to your affiliates. Navigate to the affiliates section and click on affiliates manager.
Choose an affiliate to whom you want to add direct link tracking and click on edit.
In the tracking section click on add url and in the new window define the URL starting by star dot the url star.
The first star identifies that if the site has a subdomain like blog etc. it will take it into action a track clicks from it too.
How To Redirect A Link
The star at the end of the url defines that any subpages will be also automatically tracked.
